I’m sure everyone reading that sentence will come up with a different idea of what showing up in your own life means. For some it may be a reminder to appreciate what you have. For some it may be the idea of spending more time with family and friends. For some it may be a different way of saying stop and smell the roses. There are all sorts of ways that we can show up in our own life!
For me it means – taking responsibility for my own actions.
I complained that my upline was not training me. But I didn’t show up for the meetings, didn’t call her, didn’t read the material from the company.
I complained that I couldn’t get any bookings. But I didn’t show up and get on the phone and call people.
I complained that I didn’t have any recruits. But I didn’t show up and never talked to a hostess or mentioned recruiting during my presentation.
So what do we do? We resort to complaining. We complain about our upline. We complain about our company. But what is complaining? Often, complaining is placing our own lack of motivation on someone else and blaming them for our lack of activity and, therefore, our success. If you want to be successful – show up in your own life! If you want to show up in your own life – get motivated. If you want to get motivated – take action!
You simply cannot be successful in direct sales until you do something!
If you don’t do something can you improve?
Do you attend trainings?
Do you read everything that comes from your upline or your company?
When your upline or your company offers an incentive do you at least try to earn it?
Do you take some time to analyze what you’re doing and see how you can improve?
Do you call and email your upline for help?
Are you actually doing something in your business or are you just thinking about what you could do in your business?
Are you working it or are you spending time getting organized and cleaning your office?
In other words – are you showing up in your business?
Are you motivated to be successful?
Your upline can’t motivate you – motivation comes from within. You have got to take action to get motivated. What real action are you going to take this week in your business? How are you going to show up in your business this week?
